Simplest and Most Effective Time Management Ideas

I don’t know about you but sometimes business improvement and personal development can be way over complicated and difficult to implement.

So, I wanted to give you 3 simple idea’s on how to manage yourself better so you can be more efficient with your time – now you might be doing these things already but if your not, you’re going to be blown away with how well they work.

Let me quickly back up a bit though!

It seems common knowledge in today’s world of work that we are multi-tasking and processing more information than ever.

And on top of this our “to do” lists are longer than they have ever been.

This can get stressful – in fact the thing I get asked most for in sales training sessions more than anything is Time Management

So enough of the pre-amble here are the ideas.

Idea # 1

***Get the 3 most important things done every day***

Ok, sounds too simple I know, but bear with me.

As you are in the shower getting ready for work, think of the three most important things that if you got completed today would mean this day will be a success.

This will give you better clarity for the day and will make you more immune to daily distractions.

Regardless of whats on your to do list, what would be the three main things?

Then if you get good at nailing 3, go for 4 things and so on but no more than 6 key things.

Idea # 2

Block like tasks

Ok you may have probably heard this one before, but before you scroll on, check this out.

What put’s this idea on steroids is not only blocking “like” tasks like writing proposals, emails blog posts, Facebook updates returning emails then having another block of time where you return and make phone calls.

But note the best times of the day to do these tasks in terms of:

(a)when you have the best success with clients and

(b) when you have the most energy to complete that specific task.

For example, you might have the most energy in the morning which might make that the best time to make outgoing or follow up calls.

You might write better mid morning once you have got a bit of momentum going with the day.

To do this simply take note of when you have the best or the most energy and structure your Ideal week around the times when you do each task the best.

Idea # 3

Work in no longer than 60 – 90 minute focused, uninterrupted chunks then allow yourself 10-15 minutes of “moth” time to have a drink of water, coffee or browse the net to unwind – then do another focused chunk.

Reason is your brain can’t just go non stop all day – that will lead you down the dark road to burnoutsville.

Told you they would be simple and easy.

Try it.

Often the simple ideas are the easiest and most valuable.
