I am just back from the
Mentawais where I have been
for the last 2 weeks
We were totally off the grid
for 2 weeks and had an awesome
time.
So now it’s time to jump
back in.
So today I wanted to talk
about possibly the most
powerful thing in sales
that I get asked for time
and time again…
How can I get my sales people
to be more confident?
And it’s a great question
because confidence transcends
technical sales skill
It re-enforces one of the
biggest premises is sales
which is this…
Sales is a transference of
feelings
If you feel six foot an bullet proof
you will attract clients and
business in that same energy
If you are enthusiastic about
what you sell and about your
business you will attract
clients and business in that
same energy
When I talk to clients about hiring
and keeping sales people I ALWAYS suggest they
look for a couple of key things…
Enthusiasm – everyone loves an enthusiast
Confidence – not like high ego bordering
on arrogance but comfortable in their own skin
Culture fit – time and time again you see
people who will thrive in one environment
but be like a fish out of water in another
Attitude – kind of goes with out saying
but it’s SUPER important
Core Competence – don’t look for a jack
of all trades, simply identify the core
competence and look for evidence of that
FIRST so you can treat anything else
they can also do as a bonus.
Look for the above traits in your sales
people and then ask yourself if you
would enthusiastically re-hire each
member in your team.
After all it’s really hard to train
yourself out of a bad recruiting
situation but if you have the right
team, the sky is the limit
to apply for a strategy session to find out some great ways
to motivate and get your team selling
more than you ever thought possible,
